We would like to invite You for this year edition of Barbican Cup – an international tournament which is organized for over 30 years in Poland in Cracow.
Come and join us! After a hard year of competitions and Olympic Games it will be a great opportunity for a little bit of rest, friendly rivarly, chance to win a 1 500€ and possibility to see our beautiful city and polish “gold autumn”.
It will be a great honour for us to have You in Cracow as our guests!

Barbican Cup – general informations

The Barbican Club is a fencing competition with international fame organized in Cracow. It always took a place in the last weekend of the May but this Year we have changed the date of the tournament – it will be organized on September! Every year, over 100 competitors from all over Europe take part in it, including top fencers from Poland as well as contestants from Italy, Croatia, Romania, Ukraine, Belarus and Estonia. The competition is the only true fencing celebration in Cracow and stands for promoting fencing amongst Cracow citizens and beyond. It is also a great opportunity for fencers from all over Europe, to compete amongst one another for exceptional prizes in a great atmosphere.

One of the key issues that is worth mentioning are the competition finals will take place in the Barbican - an old medieval construction that was a fortification element of Cracow's City Walls. This place will definitely add a special feeling to the final day of the competition!

Barbican Cup – edition 2011

During the last year edition our special guest was the former World Champion – Nikolai Novosjolov from Estonia. He spent 3 days in Cracow having a time for sightseeing, practice fights
featuring members of our club, meeting Cracow City officials and – of course – taking a part in the competition. He left Cracow with good memories and the main reward in tournament – 1 500 €!
